Cancellation & Deposit Policy
How reserving, paying for, and cancelling a visit works — in plain language.
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Reserving your visit
We don't charge a deposit to book. To hold your appointment, we keep a card on file. Nothing is charged when you book your visit, and nothing is charged if you keep it — Dr. Gibson goes over your total with you and it is paid at the time of the visit. Your bank may briefly show a small temporary verification hold when the card is saved; it is reversed automatically and drops off on its own. Payments made on-site by cash or check receive a 5% discount; credit and debit card payments include a 2.5% processing fee.
Cancelling or rescheduling
You're welcome to cancel or reschedule at no charge up to 4 hours before your appointment. If you cancel within 4 hours of the appointment time, or if no one is present for a scheduled visit, a $100 fee is charged to the card on file. This applies to booked visits; a deceased pet pickup carries no automatic no-show fee.
If your pet passes on their own
If your pet passes naturally before Dr. Gibson has begun traveling to you, there is no charge. If she is already on her way, please call us and we'll handle it with compassion.
Emergencies
Life — and goodbyes — can be unpredictable. If something urgent comes up, please call (469) 228-8451. Genuine emergencies are always handled compassionately, case by case.
