This estimate is your price — but horses and livestock aren't booked online. To book one, please call (469) 228-8451 directly and tell my assistant it's for a horse or livestock. He'll take the species, the weight, your town and how to reach the property, and pass it straight to me — then I or my equine assistant Jessica will call or text you back to arrange the time.

I begin with a gentle sedative so your pet drifts into a calm, painless sleep in a familiar place — often in your arms or their favorite spot. When your family is ready, the final step is peaceful and quiet. You'll have as much time as you need to say goodbye.

In-home euthanasia — dogs, cats & small animals
From $375, based on your pet's weight (see the table below). I travel to you; your pet is sedated first and kept comfortable; unhurried time to say goodbye; and gentle guidance on aftercare.
Large-animal & equine euthanasia
From $600, plus travel. No farm-call fee. Large-animal and equine visits run 11:00 AM–7:00 PM and are arranged by phone only — please call or text so I can plan the visit and the travel with you. There is no online booking for horses or livestock. Aftercare for horses and livestock is handled on-site with the owners.
Deceased pet pickup — dogs, cats & small animals
From $150, plus travel. If your pet has already passed at home, I or a member of my team come to you and carry them with dignity, then arrange the cremation aftercare you choose. Includes an ink paw print, ink nose print, and fur clipping. Ask me for a pickup — we'll come as soon as we can.

Travel & fees
- Travel: $3 per mile from my base, one way, rounded to the nearest $5.
- After-hours, weekend & holiday: a weekend or holiday visit adds $100. After-hours (5–9 PM) adds $100, and emergency after-hours (9 PM–12 AM) adds $250. These stack — an after-hours visit on a weekend or holiday adds $200, and an emergency one adds $350. Estimate your cost has every combination. After-hours and emergency visits are arranged by call or text.
- No deposit is charged to book. I save a card to hold your visit; your total — the figure Estimate your cost shows you — is one I go over with you and it is paid at the visit, by cash, check, or card. Pay on-site by cash or check for a 5% discount; credit and debit card payments include a 2.5% processing fee. A $100 fee applies only to a no-show or a cancellation within 4 hours of the appointment. You can cancel or reschedule free up to 4 hours before — see my Cancellation & Deposit Policy.
Deceased pet pickup
If your pet has already passed at home, I can come to you. Pickup starts at $150 and includes an ink paw print, ink nose print, and fur clipping keepsake. Travel is $3 per mile from my base. Any cremation aftercare you choose is added on top. A weekend or holiday adds $100, and after-hours times add more, the same as any visit.

In-home visit
From $375Based on your pet's weight ($375 up to 100 lb; $425 for 101–150 lb; $475 for 151–200 lb). No deposit to book. Estimate your cost for your price; I go over the total with you and it's paid at your visit — cash, check, or card. Cash or check saves 5%; card adds 2.5%.

Three visits a day are bookable online. Everything else I arrange with you by phone — here is what happens at any hour of the day.
- Standard visits — book online. Appointments start at 11:00 daily. Book a visit →
- Weekends and holidays are bookable at those same three times and add $100 to the visit. Estimate your cost includes it — just pick “Weekend or holiday”.
- After-hours, 5:00–9:00 PM — by request. Call or text and I’ll send you a link to pick a time; I confirm it with you afterwards. Adds $100, or $200 on a weekend or holiday. Request an after-hours visit →
- Emergency after-hours, 9:00 PM–12:00 AM — by request. Same contact, flagged urgent. Adds $250 on a weekday, $350 on a weekend or holiday. Request an emergency visit →
- Overnight and early morning, 12:00 AM–11:00 AM. Please call or text and leave a message — it will reach me. I return calls from 11:00 AM.
- If your pet is in severe distress right now — at any hour — your nearest emergency veterinary hospital is the fastest help. Please go to them rather than wait for me.
By request

These four aren’t bookable online in the usual way. Call or text me and I’ll send you a private link to pick a time. The time you pick is a request, not a confirmed appointment — I come back to you to confirm it or arrange another. A card is saved when you book; nothing is charged online.
After-hours visit (5:00–9:00 PM)
An evening goodbye. Call or text me and I’ll send you a private link to pick a time. The time you choose is the time you’re asking for — it isn’t confirmed until I come back to you. I’ll call or text to confirm it, or to find another time with you if I can’t make that one, and again when I’m on my way. A card is saved when you book — nothing is charged online. Adds $100 to the visit — $200 on a weekend or holiday.

Emergency after-hours (9:00 PM–12:00 AM)
The same path, flagged urgent. Call if you can — it’s the fastest way to reach me at that hour. I’ll send you a private link to pick a time. That time isn’t confirmed until I come back to you — I’ll call or text to confirm it or offer another, and again when I’m on my way. A card is saved when you book; nothing is charged online. Adds $250 on a weekday, $350 on a weekend or holiday.

A farm call doesn’t fit a residential slot, so these run 11:00 AM–7:00 PM on their own arrangement. These visits are arranged by phone — there is no online booking for horses or livestock. Please call and tell my assistant it’s for a horse or livestock; he’ll take the species, the weight, your town, and how to reach the property, and pass it straight to me. I or my equine assistant Jessica will call or text you back to arrange the time — then again when we’re on our way. You can also text if that’s easier. Clay paw print keepsake

About Dr. Claire Gibson, DVM
I'm Dr. Claire Gibson, a proud graduate of Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine, and I bring both compassion and expertise to providing in-home euthanasia. Originally from England, I grew up across multiple states, which gave me a deep appreciation for diverse communities and their pets. I chose veterinary medicine to combine my love for animals with my dedication to helping them live long, healthy lives alongside their families.
After witnessing the challenges of euthanasia in clinical settings, I recognized the need for a more peaceful and personal approach. I believe in-home euthanasia offers a calm, familiar environment where pets and their families can share their final moments together with dignity and love. My goal is to reduce stress and provide compassionate support for both pets and their families during this emotional time.
When I'm not caring for patients, I enjoy spending time with my two children, traveling, hiking, and taking my three horses — Black Jack, Buddy, and Tater Tot — on trail rides. I also love bowling and tending to my flock of chickens, two ducks, and two beloved dogs, Annie and Teddy. I consider it an honor to help families navigate this tender time in their pets' lives.

This is one of the hardest questions a pet owner faces. Warning signs can include ongoing pain that can't be managed, no interest in food or the things they loved, trouble breathing, or more bad days than good. If you're unsure, your regular veterinarian can help you weigh your pet's quality of life. When you've made your decision, I'm here to make the goodbye as gentle as possible.

Most visits take about an hour, and I hold 90 minutes for every one so nobody is ever rushed. The visit moves at your family's pace.
Family members and children are welcome to be present if that feels right for you. For everyone's safety, other pets do need to be kept in a separate, closed-off room while the procedure is taking place.
Wherever your pet is most comfortable — a favorite bed, a sunny spot in the yard, your lap. Just let me know so I can plan.
